Commonly referred to as the “fetal pain bill” by Georgian Republicans and as the “women as livestock bill” by everyone else, HB 954 garnered national attention this month when state Rep. Terry England (R-Auburn) compared pregnant women carrying stillborn fetuses to the cows and pigs on his farm. According to Rep. England and his warped thought process, if farmers have to “deliver calves, dead or alive,” then a woman carrying a dead fetus, or one not expected to survive, should have to carry it to term.

The text in Az House Bill 2625 states:
* Women must prove to their employers that they are taking it to treat medical conditions.
Arizona is a ‘Right to Work’ state and this bill makes it simple to fire a woman for using birth control to prevent pregnancy despite the employer’s moral objection.

This is only one of a million insane laws that Arizona has passed since then Governor Napolitano left to work with President Obama and Jan Brewer was installed via Arizona’s succession laws. It isn’t the last, either.
There are more horrors from Arizona to come, rest assured.
I just cannot fathom why this is.
A woman who does not want to be pregnant, seeks an abortion.
A pregnant woman who has a miscarriage is going through the worst time in her life. Going from the family she was planning, to a funeral to plan.
Why would anyone, let alone someone who espouses their supposed Christian ideals, want to add to this woman and her families suffering?
The text of Co Bill 12-1130 may have started off as a way to add more punishment to a person who knowingly attacked a pregnant woman or who accidentally killed one or her baby. But somewhere in the process, language was added to also criminalize a woman who was just was able to bring her pregnancy to term.
How fucking horrible.
According to last cycle’s Presidential hopeful John McCain, the 900+ bills targeting womens basic health care rights this year is a big shamockery the Democrats have made up to scare women into not voting Romney and the Rebulican.
As if they don’t do that just fine on their own.
